League champion Scappoose and second-place Seaside garnered most of the awards and selections to the Cowapa All-League football team, announced last week.
The league had three Offensive Players of the Year — senior Jimmy Jones of Scappoose, and juniors Hayden Vandehey of Banks and Alex Teubner of Seaside.
Sean McNabb of Scappoose and Seaside’s Jeff Roberts were named Coaches of the Year; and Ross Parson of Scappoose was the lone Defensive Player of the Year.
The Indians had seven selections to the first-team offense and five on defense; while Seaside had six first-team offense players, and three first-team defense.
The Gulls had all five of their offensive linemen earn all-league honors, along with two tight ends, a running back, a wide receiver, and junior Payton Westerholm was one of three first-team quarterbacks.
Seaside also landed three linebackers on the all-league team.
The Valley Catholic volleyball team capped a great regular season with all six starters being selected to the Cowapa All-League team, released this week.
As voted on by the league’s coaches, Valley Catholic senior Lizzy Osborn was named the Cowapa’s Player of the Year, while the Valiants’ Becky Kemper was Coach of the Year.
Valley Catholic had four first-team selections and two honorable mention. Tillamook also had six all-league selections, three first-team and three honorable mention.
Seaside senior Alyssia Gonzales was the lone Gulls’ selection to the first team, while senior Jetta Ideue and junior Anna Huddleston were named honorable mention.
