Pianist Vladislav Kosminov, a native of Uzbekistan, will perform on Saturday, Nov. 11, 7 p.m., at Cannon Beach Community Church, located at 132 E. Washington, in downtown Cannon Beach. Kosminov will perform on the church’s newly acquired seven-foot 2008 Steinway Grand Piano. This concert is co-sponsored by Portland Piano International and is free and open to the public.

Kosminov’s performance in Cannon Beach will include works by Schubert, Mendelssohn, Saint-Saens, and the premiere of a new work by Oregon composer, David Schiff. This new work is titled “Six Songs without Words.” This concert is sponsored by Portland Piano International, featuring “Rising Stars,” young concert pianists from around the world.

Kosminov came to the United States in 2013 to pursue a professional performance certificate at the Lynn Conservatory of Music as a student of Roberta Rust. Currently, he is pursuing his master’s degree under the tutelage of the gold medalist of the 11th Van Cliburn International Piano Competition, Stanislav Ioudenitch, in Park University, Missouri.
