Programs provide free, reduced price meals

Guidelines issued for new school year

Published on September 5, 2018 2:11PM

Each year, the Oregon Department of Education announces income guidelines that allow students to qualify for free or reduced price meals.

The guidelines are determined by U.S. Department of Agriculture and are the same for schools operating the National School Lunch and School Breakfast Programs.

Schools that do not offer these programs may offer the Special Milk Program, which includes free milk to eligible students using the below guidelines.

Persons with disabilities who require alternative means of communication for program information should contact the agency where they applied for benefits. Individuals who are deaf, hard of hearing or have speech disabilities may contact USDA through the Federal Relay Service at 800-877-8339. Additionally, program information may be made available in languages other than English.
