SEASIDE — A man has been arrested in connection with a reported stabbing in Seaside.

Dylan Douglas Snook, 32, of Astoria, was taken into custody about 5:12 p.m. Monday in Astoria. He was lodged in Clatsop County Jail on charges of Assault I, unlawful use of a weapon, unlawful possession of a weapon, Assault IV, menacing, harassment and disorderly conduct. The charges stem from an incident that occurred about 1:58 a.m. Sunday, when Seaside Police Department responded to a report of a stabbing near the 300 block of Broadway in Seaside.

A male victim, who had two punctures on his back, reported to officers he was stabbed.

“Snook was developed as the lone suspect during the initial investigation” into the case by Seaside detectives, reported a news release from the Seaside Police Department.

Detectives with the department obtained information that Snook was staying at a residence in Astoria, the release states. Clatsop County Narcotics Team and Astoria Police Department detectives assisted in conducting surveillance on the residence.

“Seaside detectives located Snook within the residence and took him into custody without incident,” the release states.

The case has been referred to the Clatsop County District Attorney’s Office.

Detectives with the Seaside Police Department still are seeking information from anyone who may have witnessed the stabbing or the events leading up to the incident. Anyone with information may contact Detective Gary Welborn at 503-738-6311.
