A Brownsmead man was arrested Friday on sex abuse and drug charges.

Clatsop County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested Greg Howard Smith, 50, after a 16-year-old boy being treated at a hospital early Thursday morning reported Smith drugged and sexually abused him.

Smith allegedly gave the boy alcohol and marijuana, though further tests revealed he had ingested other drugs. The boy said he woke up to Smith sexually abusing him inside a camp trailer near a residence at 42800 Fish Lane where Smith was sleeping. The boy had spent the previous night with Smith, whom he described as a friend.

Also known as Greg Tyrone Jesus, the man is a registered sex offender following a 2006 conviction in Columbia County. He was sentenced to six years in prison for first-degree sex abuse and second-degree sodomy. A third-degree rape charge in Clatsop County that same year was dismissed.

Smith has been charged with delivery of a controlled substance to a minor, delivery of marijuana to a minor, providing alcohol to a minor, third-degree sex abuse, first-degree sodomy, felon in possession of a firearm and luring a minor.
