Clatsop Community College and the American Red Cross are partnering to hold two classes on establishing shelters.
“Comprehensive Shelter Training” is a 20-hour series of classes spanning the next two weekends. Classes cover basic food safety, psychological first aid, serving people with functional and access needs and basic shelter setup and operations.
An afternoon session Oct. 1 will be a simulation exercise designed to practice the skills learned during the course. Local Red Cross volunteers and emergency preparation groups will attend the simulation to meet and work with new volunteers and to assist with the simulation.
