The North Coast may be vulnerable to flooding this weekend.
The National Weather Service has issued a flood watch for northwest Oregon and southwest Washington. Heavy rains could cause flooding near smaller rivers and in urban areas near clogged storm drains and low-lying areas. Those living below steep slopes or in canyons may be vulnerable to rapidly moving landslides.
High winds are also expected from early Saturday afternoon through the evening. Winds at beaches and headlands could reach 30 to 45 mph with gusts to 65 mph. Coastal communities may experience 25 to 35 mph winds with gusts 45 to 60 mph gusts.
The winds could result in tree damage, downed limbs and power lines, power outages and traffic complications.
