Columbia Memorial Hospital
Columbia Memorial Hospital has named Zach Schmitt as the new chief financial officer.
Schmitt joined the hospital’s administrative team a year ago. He will work closely with CEO Erik Thorsen and a yet-to-be-named chief operations officer.
Schmitt, his wife and their two young sons moved to the North Coast from Redbud, Illinois, where he was the chief financial officer for a critical access hospital. He grew up in Louisville, Kentucky, and received his bachelor’s in accounting from the University of Kentucky. He spent six years working at a 365-bed hospital near St. Louis, Missouri, while earning a master’s with a concentration in finance from St. Louis University.
“We were fortunate enough to have an opportunity at CMH presented to us. It was an easy decision to make and now we’re here,” Schmitt said in a release. “CMH has already recognized tremendous growth and financial sustainability over the past couple of years. I want to build onto those prior successes and help CMH continue to grow and expand while improving patient satisfaction and financial stability.”
