A woman was arrested following an early morning fire Sunday at her home in Knappa.

Mona Lisa Heilmann, 56, allegedly set fire to the house on the 41000 block of Hillcrest Loop shortly before 3 a.m. Sunday. Several people inside the home were able to extinguish the blaze before emergency personnel arrived, but one person was treated and released from a hospital for fire-related injuries.

Heilmann had been living at a family member’s home in Chinook, Washington, for several months. Family members recently had become concerned about her behavior, according to the Clatsop County Sheriff’s Office.

Heilmann was arrested Sunday by the Pacific County Sheriff’s Office and charged with first-degree arson. She is awaiting extradition to Oregon.

Those who have information relevant to the investigation can contact Detective Justin Dersham at 503-325-2061 or jdersham@co.clatsop.or.us.
