Northwest Parenting offers parents, children and educators an opportunity to learn from “The Parenting Doctor” how to deal with complex feelings and help develop emotional intelligence.
Dr. Ann Corwin, the creator of an innovative toolkit to teach social and emotional skills, comes to Clatsop County on Tuesday, June 13, for a presentation of “Emotional Intelligence — Building a Child’s Overall Well-Being and Development.” Two programs are scheduled, 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the Seaside Public Library Community Room and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Astoria Public Library Flag Room.
Parents and kids in our community will have the opportunity to learn how to teach and express emotional intelligence through an innovative program called “Toddlers to Teens.” Each family will get a free kit they can use for kids from toddlers to preteens. Light refreshments will be provided and registration is appreciated; email firstname.lastname@example.org or call 503-823-8673, ext. 2.
