Work is well underway for the Seaside’s newest Starbucks at 420 Roosevelt Drive.

The international chain will be opening its second Seaside location this fall, a spokesperson said Friday.

At a December Planning Commission hearing, architects said they anticipated Starbucks an October or early November opening. The location will be approximately 1,950 square feet, and come with a drive-through option for customers.

A second store inside Seaside’s Safeway will remain open for customers.

In December, planning commissioners voted to conditionally approve the new coffee shop and drive-thru.

A traffic impact analysis prepared reported the site will generate an estimated 166 new weekday vehicle trips.

The drive-through lane will have a southbound exit onto the highway. A full access also will be provided onto Irvine Place, the street running behind Pizza Hut.

The defunct NAPA Auto Parts building sitting on the site was demolished earlier this year.
