Seaside’s Kim Fields spotted this giant Pacific octopus at the South Jetty in Warrenton.
“They are quite common in our area,” Tiffany Boothe of the Seaside Aquarium said Friday. “The one in this photograph appears to be a full grown adult.”
The Pacific octopus has a very short life cycle, she said, living to only 3 or 4 years old. “This one probably died and just washed up,” Boothe said. “Looks like it had been dead for a little while.”
