March 23

12:19 a.m., 900 block Avenue S: A person was arrested in possession of heroin. They also were charged with driving with a revoked or suspended license.

2:18 p.m., 400 S. Roosevelt: A concerned caller requested a welfare check on a family whose children looked to the caller “in need of a shower”; also reported in the family’s possession was a cat on a leash. Officers responding located the woman and her children who appeared fine. No cat was seen.

March 24

4:34 p.m., Avenue S and Aldermill: Officers contacted subjects who were “acting like idiots” at the Recycling Center and told them to knock it off.

8:08 p.m., 400 block Avenue A: An assault was reported.

11:53 p.m., Caller reports receiving suicidal texts from a friend. The friend is contacted and says they have no intention of self harm.

March 25

1:43 a.m., 12th and Prom: A person is arrested for driving under the influence of intoxicants; driving with a suspended or revoked license; reckless endangerment.

4:01 a.m., 300 block N. Prom: Police respond to a report of gunshots. They encounter a large group of people on the beach who admit to setting off fireworks.

9:03 a.m., Java Reef: Police observe a fifth wheel trailer parked by Java Reef. The inhabitants say they are moving into Pine Cove the next day. They are warned about the unlawful lodging ordinance.

5:45 p.m.: A person is arrested for being in possession of heroin; disorderly contact and interfering with a police officer.

March 26

2:16 a.m., Post office: A subject is arrested for being in possession of methamphetamine and hydrocodone.

7:46 a.m., 1200 block N. Franklin: After being caught for unlawfully entering a motor vehicle, a subject is arrested and charged for robbery in the third degree and assault in the fourth degree.

6:44 p.m., 700 block S. Wahanna: Seaside police assist Gearhart police transporting a mental patient back to the hospital.

March 27

12:17 a.m., Pocket Park: A person is charged with using marijuana in public.

1:32 a.m., 300 block S. Edgewood: Police assist the fire department with a structure fire.

10:03 a.m., 1800 block S. Columbia Drive: A person is arrested and charged with possession of meth.

4:18 p.m., Nike parking lot: Two women were having a verbal altercation in the parking lot outside the Nike outlet store. Items were tossed from a vehicle. Police offered one of the adult females and her daughter a courtesy ride to the police department where arrangements were made to get them back to Portland.

11:52 p.m., Turnaround: Police responded to a report of a distressed, possibly intoxicated man walking into the ocean; police located the subject who was walking near the water, was not intoxicated, and was not in any distress. No further action was taken.

March 28

1:52 a.m., Convention Center: Officer on patrol observed a car with its doors and hatch open. Because of recent break-ins in the area, officer came closer. Inside the vehicle were three youths, one who owned the vehicle. They told police they had driven to Seaside “on a whim,” and were just resting and would shortly return to Portland.

12:53 p.m., 400 block S. Holladay: A deceased person is reported.

4:35 p.m., Forest Drive: A missing person is reported.

March 29

10:04 a.m., Beach Marker #10: A third party reports a half a case of beer on the beach. By the time officers arrived, the beer was gone.

12:54 p.m., 300 block N. Edgewood: Anonymous caller reports two former tenants of a condemned building entering the building. Subjects tell police the building official gave permission for them to go in to retrieve belongings and cats.

9:46 p.m., First Avenue: A felony assault is reported. The subject is also charged with criminal trespass in the second degree and harassment.

10:43 p.m., Spruce Drive: A person is arrested and charged with driving under the influence of intoxicants.

March 30

12:01 a.m. 300 block S. Edgewood: Police assist a person retrieving cat from a building after a fire.

2:23 p.m., 1100 block N. Holladay: Responding to a report of a disturbance, police charge a subject for being in possession of alcohol, as well as creating a verbal disturbance.

March 31

2:47 p.m., 1600 block Broadway: A person is arrested and charged with assault in the fourth degree, as well as harassment.

5:12 p.m., Shilo Inn/Ocean Shores: A child reported missing is reunited with its parents.

7:53 p.m., Avenue A: A minor in possession of alcohol is charged.

11:40 p.m., N. Downing: A subject who passed out in a bar was lucid and talking when police offered them a courtesy ride home.

April 1

1:39 a.m., Avenue G and Downing: Police respond to a report of unknown individuals setting off mortars on the beach. The subjects took off when they saw police coming. Police were unable to locate. The resort where the subjects were staying was notified of their guests’ behavior.

2:33 a.m., Highway 101: Seaside police assist Gearhart police with a subject, apparently intoxicated and presenting injuries consistent with having been in a recent fight, walking on the highway. Subject refused medical attention. A taxi was called to drive them home.

8:38 p.m., 500 block Beach Drive: A person was arrested and charged with misuse of 911, disorderly conduct in the second degree, and resisting arrest.

April 2

10:58 p.m., 1000 blocks S. Downing: A disturbance is reported.

April 3

10:43 a.m., 2100 Lewis and Clark Road: Theft of a bicycle and a motorized scooter were reported.

April 4

10:44 a.m., 2600 block Mill Creek Lane: Bloody rags found outside a maintenance shed are collected by police as possible evidence in a criminal case.

3:26 p.m., 300 block S. Edgewood: Caller reported an open window in a burned out house that is leading to criminal trespass. The window is secured.

3:28 p.m., 12th and Roosevelt: Caller reports a limping dog outside a business. Police advise caller they know the dog and it is old and arthritic.

9:23 p.m., Turnaround: Caller reports a fight in progress. When officers arrive, several witnesses describe two males physically fighting. Both parties were gone on police arrival.

April 5

12:35 p.m., 2500 block S. Roosevelt: A death investigation is conducted.

7:29 p.m., 400 block S. Roosevelt: Police respond to a report of a man in a truck yelling and cussing. The vehicle left the area before police arrival; the complainant said the man was angry with two females who had just been in the area.

7:51 p.m., The Aquarium: A person is arrested and charged with disorderly conduct and assault.

8:16 p.m., 1000 block S. Downing: A woman came into the police station to report harassment from a former co-worker who she said has been texting her and calling her a liar about a sexual harassment allegation at the workplace. Police read the texts, which showed the man telling the woman to stop contacting him. Officer advised both parties to not contact each other.

9 p.m., 1500 block S. Roosevelt: A person was arrested and charged with possession of heroin.
