A watercolor class begins this fall at the art association.

Trail’s End Art Association and Gallery will be holding a Beginning Watercolor class in January taught by Debbie Loyd, an Astoria watercolorist. The class begins Jan. 6 at 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. continuing for four more Saturdays through Feb. 3. The gallery is located in Gearhart at 656 A Street just south of Pacific Way. She became accomplished at the piano and once exchanged piano lessons for art lessons, becoming enthralled and continued learning and then going beyond the basics to find her style through books, videos and workshops.

Over the past 20 years Loyd has won many awards both locally and nationally by creating works of passion in many subjects but she particularly enjoys painting portraits.
