The Seaside boys soccer program scored big in the Cowapa All-League selections, announced recently.

As voted on by the league’s coaches, the league champion Gulls had eight players selected to the all-league team, to go with Player of the Year and Coach of the Year honors.

Senior Colton Carter picked up his third straight Player of the Year award, while John Chapman was named Coach of the Year for leading Seaside to a 13-2-1 record, 9-0-1 in league play.

Astoria senior Jake Hurd was named the league’s Goalkeeper of the Year, joining five other Fishermen on the all-league squad.


Girls soccer all-league


Seaside had four players named to the Cowapa All-League girls soccer squad: senior Bryre Babbitt and junior Jessica Angulo-Joli to the first team, and junior Chloe Bartel and freshman Corrie Falleur honorable mention.

Valley Catholic senior Taylor Menkens was selected as the league’s Player of the Year, as the state champion Valiants placed seven players on the all-league team, including five juniors.
