CORBETT — Seaside played a strong second half, but a 25-13 deficit at halftime was too much to overcome in a nonleague girls basketball game at Corbett Friday, won by the Cardinals, 46-38.

“Give Corbett their due, but we were not ready, looked fatigued and didn’t really get after it until too late,” said Seaside coach Mike Hawes. “We’d played two good (home) games, and we wanted to see if we could travel.”

Seaside remains on the road for a contest at Yamhill-Carlton Tuesday, then will open the Seaside Holiday Classic at 6 p.m. Thursday vs. Crook County.
