Assistance League of the Columbia Pacific’s Eleventh Annual Golf Ball Drop takes place Saturday May 12, at the Astoria Golf and Country Club. Tickets must be purchased in advanced and are for sale at Holly McHone Jewelers in Astoria and from Assistance League members. A ticket number will be put on a golf ball, which will be dropped from the helicopter. Golf balls that land closest to the pin win a prize. Proceeds go directly to the league’s Operation School Bell to purchase new clothes for the upcoming school year.
