BANKS — The Seaside boys soccer team took another step towards their annual Cowapa League title, with a 3-0 win Oct. 4 at Banks.

The No. 6-ranked Gulls improved to 4-0 in league play, while the Braves are at the bottom, 0-4 in league, 1-8 overall.

While the Seaside boys were winning on the road, the Banks’ girls soccer team was posting a 3-1 win at Broadway Field.

Seaside scored a 2-0 victory Oct. 2 over Tillamook at Broadway Field.

Sophomore Dodger Holmstedt scored both goals for the Gulls.


Tillamook defeats Lady Gulls


TILLAMOOK — Tillamook scored its first league win of the season Oct. 2, with a 1-0 historic victory over visiting Seaside in a Cowapa League girls soccer contest at Tillamook.

Since joining the Cowapa League in 2007, the Cheesemakers were 0-19-1 against the Gulls, scoring a 0-0 tie with Seaside in their last meeting of 2017.

North Bend and Seaside met Sept. 29 in Newport for a nonleague game, and the Class 5A Bulldogs posted the win, 3-0.

Haley Edwards had two goals and Morgan Bream added two assists for North Bend, which is ranked ninth at the 5A level.

Charlise Stark had North Bend’s other goal, with an assist from Brooklyn Garrigus.
