KNAPPA — The Knappa Schools Foundation Dinner and Auction took place Feb. 10. The sold-out event served dinner to 335 people and raised more than $113,000.
The silent auction raised $12,059, right on target from last year; raffle drawings brought in $4,600, up from last year; the live auction made $37,925, up from last year’s $34,025; there was $8,000 in dinner ticket sales; and miscellaneous donations added up to approximately $6,000.
One of the highlights of the evening was Sen. Betsy Johnson’s Plea, which raised $44,400; last year she raised $40,450.
Some of the oral auction items included: student art work; a garden trailer from welding students; a staycation at Big Creek Fishing Lodge, with wine and appetizers from the Logger Restaurant, and a Crafty Project from Rusty Dahlia, for a group of 10; Boston Red Sox tickets, airfare and hotel; five trips to Mexico; an Aviation Experience to Boeing Manufacturing in Everett, Washington; and several hunting rifles for local hunting enthusiasts.
