Clatsop Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) received a $10,000 grant from the Edna L. Holmes Fund of the Oregon Community Foundation through its Community Grant program. The grant will fund the recruitment, training and ongoing support of additional CASA volunteers.
The Clatsop CASA program provides trained volunteers to speak for the best interest of abused and neglected children in court, and throughout the child’s time in the state child welfare system. Clatsop CASA currently serves more than 100 children in Clatsop County each year, with more than 40 dedicated community volunteers.
