WARRENTON — Local Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) training is available Nov. 17, 18 and 19 at Camp Kiwanilong in Warrenton. This 21-hour course, taught by Kimber Townsend of the Polk County CERT, educates people about disaster preparedness for hazards that may impact their area and trains them in basic disaster response skills such as fire safety, light search and rescue, team organization and disaster medical operations.

Once trained, CERT volunteers can join their local team or use the skills to improve their personal level of preparedness and assist others in their neighborhood, community or workplace following an event when professional responders are not immediately available to help.

There is limited space, and registration is required. For information, and to register, Call Clatsop County Emergency Management at 503-325-8645 or email
