Oyster fry and art auction on tap for Saturday

ILWACO, Wash. — The Chinook Indian Nation hosts its second annual Holiday Art Auction and Oyster Fry benefit from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday at the Columbia Pacific Heritage Museum, 115 S.E. Lake St. in Ilwaco.

The cost is $15 per person for an oyster dinner, $13 for seniors age 65 and older and veterans, or $5 for a hot dog and chips. Tickets are available at the door.

The raffle prize is a framed wood block print by local artist Peter Nevins. Those attending can bid on art made by wood turner Ron Pulliam and other tribal and local artists at the event, which also features drumming, singing and dancing performances every hour.
