The Salvage Chief (LSM 380) is open to the public for tours and sea stories from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday. The ship is located on the Clatsop Community College Marine and Environmental research and Training Station (MERTS) campus, 6550 Liberty Lane, which is east of Astoria, off U.S. Highway 30.

Salvage Chief caps, T-shirts, books and hoodies are available. The Salvage Chief (LSM 380) Foundation is a nonprofit organization funded by donations.
