SEASIDE — Seaside Museum’s Old-Fashioned Social, a family tradition for many residents and visitors over its 30-year history, is scheduled for 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday.
The Fourth of July event is also the museum’s major annual fundraiser.
“Between the parade and the fireworks, there’s the social,” Seaside Mayor Jay Barber said. “It’s a not-to-be-missed part of the way to celebrate the Fourth of July in Seaside.”
The social features kids’ games, bingo, a continuous cakewalk, music by Smoke and Mirrors, and a replica of the Statue of Liberty for taking selfies. There is also a silent auction until 2 p.m.. Up for bids are trips, meals, lodging, art and merchandise.
Hot dogs, strawberry shortcake, cotton candy and ice cream are just some of the summer food that is available, and the Methodist ladies’ pie booth sells out quickly. Raffle winners will take away $50 gift cards to Fred Meyer and a handcrafted quilt.
