Students invited to submit essays on voting

High school essay contest open for submissions

To promote the importance of voting, area high school students are invited to participate in an essay contest, “I Will Vote.” Indivisible North Coast Oregon (INCO) and the American Association of University Women (AAUW) Astoria and Seaside chapters are the contest’s sponsors.

All high school students in grades nine through 12 in Clatsop County and Pacific County, Washington, are eligible to submit an essay. INCO and AAUW are awarding cash prizes of $250 for first place, $150 for second place and $100 for third place, contributed by donors to both organizations for the essay contest.
