WARRENTON — Lori Lum-Toyooka, president and general manager of Lum’s Auto Center in Warrenton, will receive Dealer of the Year honors Sunday during the North American International Auto Show held in Detroit.

She will be honored for demonstrating an "unprecedented record of exceptional sales, exemplary service, strong customer relations and an overall commitment to excellence in the automobile industry."

An independent panel of journalists and auto experts selected the finalists for the 17th Urban Wheel Awards, “Honoring Women in the Automotive Industry.”

Lum's Auto Center opened in 1969 by David and Shirley Lum which has become a multi-franchise dealership including Toyota, Scion, Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge and Ram.

Lum-Toyooka began the process of family business succession by working in sales and finance at Lum’s Auto Center while attending and graduating from the Chrysler Sons & Daughters Dealer Academy and the National Auto Dealer Association Dealer Academy, where she served as president of her graduating class.

Taking direction from her father, David Lum, she has continued the business’ dedication to community support by actively participating in, supporting or creating numerous community events that would either raise awareness or funds for groups or organizations in need.

She is on the board of directors of the Oregon Automobile Dealers Association as well as Garden of Surging Waves, Astoria’s Chinese Heritage Park Committee.

She works at the dealership with sisters Julie Lum, who is parts manager, and Pamela Lum, marketing manager and office manager.
