Letter: Costly changes

Kathy Shanelec re Measure 4-188

Published on November 3, 2017 12:01AM

Just a reminder in case you have not yet voted: The current short-term rental regulations are not cast in stone. Under the current regulations, any of the rules can be modified by citizens requesting changes, working through the city planning commission and the city council.

However, if you vote yes on Measure 4-188, and the repeal and replace initiative wins, changes could only be approved by a general election, which would cost the city ‘s taxpayers $10,000.

A “no” vote = changes possible.

A “yes” vote = difficult and costly to change.
