New reporter joins The Daily Astorian

Kyle Spurr joins The Daily Astorian crew as its Crime. Courts, County and Parks reporter.

Kyle Spurr joins The Daily Astorian newsroom from The Chronicle in Centralia, Wash., replacing reporter Ted Shorack, who is now with the Bend Bulletin. Spurr graduated from the University of Montana with a Bachelor of Arts in journalism. After graduation, Spurr reported in Mineral County, Mont. for the Mineral Independent before joining The Chronicle where he covered city, county and crime beats. He will cover cops, courts, Clatsop County, state and national parks for the Astorian.

“Kyle was highly thought of in Centralia and he brings more good experience to our newsroom,” Managing Editor Laura Sellers said.
