Boys basketball: Warrenton loses twice on road

CLOVERDALE — Tied after the first quarter, halftime and three quarters, Nestucca outscored Warrenton 9-7 in the fourth for a 40-38 win over the Warriors, last Thursday in a boys basketball season opener.

Nestucca’s Cole Strober scored 17 to lead all scorers, while Dalton Knight had 13 and Jacob Morrow had 10 for the Warriors.

Warrenton returned to action Saturday at Gaston, where the Greyhounds posted a 57-50 win over the Warriors.

Warrenton hosts Naselle Tuesday.
