SEASIDE — In a nonleague girls game at Seaside, the Lady Gulls snapped a two-game losing skid with a 41-26 win over North Bend Tuesday afternoon.

The Bulldogs scored the first two points, but Seaside’s Jetta Ideue poured in nine of her team’s first 14 points, for a 14-6 lead.

Baskets by Annaka Garhofer, Ruby Davis, Gretchen Hoekstre and Ideue pushed the Gulls’ lead to 23-14.

A three-point play by Bryre Babbitt and another trey by Garhofer highlighted a 10-2 run to start the second half.

It’s “nice to get a win,” said Seaside coach Mike Hawes. “We’re transitioning from a four-guard team to a two-post team, and trying to figure things out. Our young posts, Gretchen Hoekstre and Ruby Davis, did a great job on the boards, and even found some points for us.”

Ideue “pushed the pace when she could and got to the bucket some. North Bend is a young team, but they played hard all night, to their credit. Marshfield (Thursday) will be tough, but we’ll take tonight and dream of sugar plums.”

Ideue finished with 15 points, with four rebounds, two assists and two steals. Davis had six points and nine boards, while Hoekstre pulled down 12 rebounds.
