SEASIDE — Seaside had eight players in the scoring column, but it was not enough to match Valley Catholic in a Cowapa League girls basketball game Friday at the Gulls’ Nest.

The Valiants had three players in double figures on their way to a 44-29 win over the Gulls, who fall to 3-5 in league, 6-15 overall.

Seaside’s Annaka Garhofer made a pair of 3-pointers in the opening minute for a 6-2 lead, but Valley Catholic answered with a 13-0 run and never looked back.

Valiant senior Noelle Mannen led all scorers with 15 points, followed by teammates Callie Kawaguchi with 11 and Sarah Jones with 10, despite foul trouble for the Valiants.

Garhofer had a team-high nine points for the Gulls.
