Bonamici says, don’t expect federal funds for school move

Lawmaker tells Seaside chamber finding funding is challenging

SEASIDE — Although U.S. Rep. Suzanne Bonamici was meeting with Seaside School District Superintendent Doug Dougherty Friday to discuss how the district might receive federal help in moving Seaside schools to a higher location, she wasn’t very encouraging about the prospect.

“Our staff is trying to find a way, but it has been very challenging,” the Oregon Democrat told those attending a weekly Seaside Chamber of Commerce breakfast Friday.
