July 24, 1962 — June 23, 2017

Heaven received another angel, Dawna May Rose. She left this world June 23, 2017, surrounded by family in Seaside, Oregon. Dawna was born to Vernon and Madge Lauzon on July 24, 1962, in Hood River, Oregon. She is preceded in death by both parents and her sisters, Lynette and Mary Katherine.

Dawna grew up in Dufur, Oregon. She lived and traveled many places. She served in the U.S. Army as a patient administration specialist, received the Sharpshooting Badge (M-16 rifle) and Expert Qualification Badge (hand grenade).

She was a participant in Relay For Life for many years. She enjoyed working with people, and had various jobs as a truck driver, waitress, receptionist, Oregon Cherry Growers and caregiving for an assisted living facility.

She loved the outdoors, camping, fishing, flowers, gardening, bird watching, butterflies, barbecues, picnics, Sunday drives, walking on the beach, visiting state parks, pigs, cats, Yahtzee, Monopoly and spending time with family and friends.

She is survived by her husband, Wayne Lee Rose, of The Dalles, Oregon; a stepson, Christopher Andrew Rose, and granddaughters, Kailyn and Kylee; a stepdaughter, Jenel, and her husband, Pat Jones, and grandson, Aberen; an ex-husband, Robert Cliff Post; a son, Matthew Alexander Post, and his significant other, Kailee Lafferry and Peanut; a daughter, Amber Dawn Post and her significant other, James Peck; her grandsons, Ayden Cole England and Austin Phoenix Peck; her sisters, Sandi, Sonya, Vicki and Lawna and her husband, Steve; her brothers, Paul and his wife, Debbie, Walter and Larry; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

We would like to thank the Celilo Center in The Dalles, Oregon. Also special thanks to Ann Rust and the Lower Columbia Hospice Team of Astoria, Oregon, and special thanks to Cyndi, RN., Diane and Diane B. for their care, friendship, love and compassion.

A celebration of life will be held Sept. 2, 2017, at noon in Dufur City Park.
