Jan. 13, 1963 — Oct. 5, 2017
Teresa (Teri) Hall-Orand, 54, entered heaven’s gates on Thursday, Oct. 5, 2017. Teri was born in Astoria, Oregon, on Jan. 13, 1963. After graduating from Astoria High School, she moved to Knappa, where she spent the majority of her adult life raising her two children.
Later in life she married her best friend, Becky Gauthier. The two of them traveled to Arizona and lived there for a few years but ultimately, they wanted to move back to Astoria to be closer to family.
Teri was most known for two things: cooking food for everyone, and her love of all sports. Not only did she play several, she also coached for many years. In her later years, she enjoyed cheering on her grandson, Payton, and took pride in being his No. 1 fan.
Despite the fact that Teri had been battling multiple health issues for quite some time, she was a strong woman who had a big heart, and couldn’t pass up a “spankin’ good deal” on groceries.
Teri is survived by her spouse, Becky Gauthier; her children, Traci Sammons (Rob and Payton Sammons) and Shane Hall; her sisters, Brenda Orand and Tami Orand; her niece, Kristen Whisnant (Nathan and Makena Whisnant); her nephew, Brent Saulsbury; Becky’s children (Megan Gauthier, Jacob Gauthier and Justin Gauthier); and extended family in Oregon City, Oregon.
In honor of Teri, there will a celebration of life held on Sunday, Oct. 22, 2017, at 11 a.m. at the ILWU Local 50, 491 Industry St. in Astoria. This will be a potluck-style celebration, so bring your favorite side dish and all of your memories and stories about Teri!
