Kevin Lee Bohm was born July 4, 1953 to Arne and Norma Bohm at St. Mary’s Hospital in Astoria, Oregon. He passed away in Portland, Oregon, Oct. 28, 2017.
Kevin was raised in Svensen, Oregon, and graduated from Knappa High School in 1971. He married the love of his life, Laura Kelley, in 1979.
He learned the carpentry trade from Lort Holdridge, then went on to run his own company for 12 years, O & B Construction with his business partner, Gary Ordway. He later joined the carpenter’s union, where he worked for several construction companies, the most recent and longest at J.H. Kelly with his good friend and co-worker, Shaun Magnuson.
Kevin was known for his love of sport fishing, gardening, building things and music. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend, coming to the rescue of anyone and everyone, repairing, rebuilding and creating projects and helping in any way he could.
He is survived by his wife, Laura; his son, Shane (Kari) Wingenbach; his daughter, Tannia (Tyson Griffin); his sister, Dena (Michael Umbriaco); his four brothers-in-law and their wives, Richard and Sharon Kelley, Daniel and Debra Kelley, David and Thalia Kelley, all of Astoria, and Donald and Aaron Melcher of Watertown, Massachusetts. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, Lexi, Rylan, Jaylynne, Shayna, Brock, Molina, Rosie, Jazmynn, Trenaley, Drecylla and Thor-Zander; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; and his fishing partner Gail-Z-bob.
A potluck celebration of life will be held at Knappa High School, 41535 Old Highway 30 in Astoria, Oregon (Svensen), on Sunday, Nov. 5, from 1 to 5 p.m.
