Robert Glen Fisher, 59, of Seaside, died Aug. 17, 2018, in Seaside, Oregon.
He was born Dec. 14, 1958, in Astoria, Oregon, to Marvin “Sonny” and Lydia Fisher. They lived in Warrenton, then Astoria. He attended school in both areas.
He began his working career at mink farms and making crab pots. He later moved on to logging, where he eventually worked his way up to timber faller and equipment operator. He then became self-employed, and did everything from roofing and remodeling homes to building beautiful furniture. He was also a commercial fisherman.
Bob was an avid outdoorsman in his younger years, and loved to hunt and fish. He was also very creative, excelling in drawing and building furniture. There wasn’t much he couldn’t do, including crochet.
He was smart, and kind, and enjoyed one-on-one chats with the people he loved.
Bob married Jan Kohlasch (Foster) in 1978. They had three daughters, and later divorced. He then married Susan Hill in 1995; they also later divorced.
He is survived by three daughters, Melissa Cokley, Jennifer (Chris) Bergerson and Sara (Joel) Jensen; eight grandchildren, Tripp and Rhett Cokley, Hailey, Charlie, Ben and Olivia Bergerson, and Taylor and Trista Jensen; and two sisters, Kathi (Rick) Martin and Kristy (Gary) Baird. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin “Sonny” and Lydia; two brothers, Ronald and Randall; and one sister, Kimberly.
When you think of Bob, know that he was loved very much, and he and all his wisdom will be missed greatly.
There will be a private family memorial.
