What I think needs to be done is we should have security guards in school. I also think we need metal detectors in school, because it could tell us or warn us if there was about to be a shooting, and that would give kids time to exit the building.
As I was reading The Oregonian Jan. 6, I saw that they make bullet-proof vests with a ballistic back pack. Now when I read this, I think this is a very good idea. Now if we mixed metal detectors and vests, it would give twice the safety to the children and staff at schools.
I also think we should have more cameras than we do in school. There is one in my school that goes to the hallway lunch stairs and outside bike rack. I personally think that is not enough surveillance.
I also think they should have more school cops, at least. To serve and protect: That is what the cops say, right, so they should serve our schools for free.
I think adults who have a license to carry a gun should be able to bring it to school for their protection and the school’s.
I think we should have a gun safety class in schools to train kids in middle school how to use a gun if anything went down, but only kids who have As and Bs could take the class, so we would know we could trust them.
