Eugene real estate tech firm IDX LLC bought a California real estate marketing firm for $6 million, adding 17 employees for a total workforce of 72, the company announced Tuesday.
IDX bought Agent Marketing LLC, formerly known as eProperty Sites, which is based in Aliso Viejo, Calif.
With the purchase, IDX now is “a one-stop source for all things real estate,” IDX Chief Executive Chad Barczak said.
Before the acquisition, IDX provided real estate professionals with Multiple Listing Service data and website services, he said.
“Now they have additional website resources and print resources for signs and printed fliers,” Barczak said.
The purchase enables IDX to offer its 80,000 users and 1,000 Web development partners more strategic and innovative tools, the company said.
Agent Marketing, a 15-year-old firm, will operate under its own brand as a subsidiary of IDX LLC.
IDX will keep Agent Marketing’s Southern California office but will fill new positions in Eugene as the subsidiary grows, Barczak said.
He projects adding five to six Agent Marketing positions in the next two years. That would be in addition to IDX’s typical growth of five to six positions a year, he said.
IDX occupies about 18,000 square feet of its 22,000-square-foot building at East Broadway and Oak Street in downtown Eugene.
The privately held company does not release annual financial information.
Founded in Eugene in December 2003, IDX has become a national leader in real estate search applications. It created the platform that developers use to display MLS data on real estate websites. Its technology, for example, enables potential homebuyers to go to a Realtor’s website and search for homes in a specific neighborhood, in a certain price range with certain amenities.
IDX said it manages more than $2 trillion worth of active listing data from more than 660 Multiple Listing Services.
Agent Marketing is a technology and print services company, specializing in real estate marketing tools.
It offers online marketing tools for real estate professionals, including single property websites, mobile marketing and virtual tours and personal websites. It also owns and operates a full-service print shop.
By March, IDX customers will be able to market their real estate listings via new tools from Agent Marketing with a push of a button, IDX said.
“The timing is perfect for us to expand our offerings for our existing customers,” Barczak said. “Our goal for 2018 and beyond is to become an even greater resource for our real estate customers and the Web developers who serve them.”
