Posted: Monday, February 11, 2013 12:16 pm

SCAPPOOSE — Scappoose senior Zach Smith may have made the shot of the year in the Cowapa League, when he drained an off-balance jumper at the buzzer Friday at Seaside, resulting in a 50-48 win over the Gulls in double overtime.

As a result, Scappoose still holds down first place in the Cowapa with a 7-1 record, with two games left. Astoria and Yamhill-Carlton are in second place, at 5-3.
