Nordic Winter Market set for Saturday

A Nordic Winter Market will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at Suomi Hall.

Items for sale will include Nordic and vintage collectibles, Scandinavian-designed creations, arts and crafts, paintings by local artists, jewelry, pottery and baked goods.

Suomi Hall Trustee Jane Hill has donated her mother’s collection of Ruby Flash souvenir glassware, which dates from 1893 to 1915. There is also a white elephant table. Most vendors will require cash payment.

For $12, a traditional pannukakku (Finnish pancake) breakfast will be available, starting at 10 a.m., which also includes fruit, sausage and coffee.

This benefit is free and open to the public. Proceeds will help restore Suomi Hall’s foundation.
