Lamp lighting ceremony

George Vetter photo In Cannon Beach's Sandpiper Square, people attend the Lamp Lighting ceremony that begins the Christmas season.

The library holiday tea and the Sandpiper Square lamp lighting ceremony mark the traditional opening of the holiday season in Cannon Beach. Visit the library between 1 and 4 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 1, to enjoy home-baked holiday cookies, tea, hot cider and conversation. Then cross Hemlock to enjoy the lamp lighting ceremony at 4 p.m.

During the Holiday Tea, the winning ticket for the vintage grandmother’s flower garden quilt will be drawn. Purchase drawing tickets at the library.
