SEASIDE — Seaside snapped a five-game losing streak, and scored over 30 points for the first time in almost a month Tuesday night, in a 38-25 win over visiting Scappoose in a Cowapa League girls basketball opener.

The Lady Gulls outscored the Indians 14-2 in a decisive third quarter, and Seaside held off a Scappoose rally in the fourth.

Annaka Garhofer was 3-of-9 from the 3-point line and scored 12 points to lead the Gulls. Teammate Bryre Babbitt added nine points and 10 rebounds.

“Feels good to get a win,” said Seaside coach Mike Hawes. “We had some solid play from lots of kids, and finally scored a few points from Annaka and Bryre.”

The Gulls were 14-of-48 from the field, 6-for-20 at the free throw line.
