CLOVERDALE — After 12 straight losses to open the season, the Knappa Lady Loggers have won two in a row, by a combined three points.

Knappa followed Thursday’s 29-28 win at Columbia Christian with a 42-40 victory Saturday afternoon at Nestucca.

Aiko Miller’s eight-foot shot at the buzzer represented the winning points for the Loggers, who are right back in the thick of the league playoff race. Nestucca falls to 0-12.

“We came out shooting really well, then kind of let (the Bobcats) back in it,” said Knappa coach Marie Green. “It was just a fun, back and forth game from there.”

The Loggers took possession of a jump ball with 1.1 seconds left, which set up Miller’s game-winner.

Miller and Paris Vanderburg each scored 10 points, while Vanderburg also had 10 rebounds and five assists. Madelynn Weaver added nine points and six boards, and Vicki Ramvick had seven points and five rebounds.
