Some health information circulating via e-mail is legitimate, such as the advice to ask these three questions if you suspect someone is having a stroke (caused by a blood clot or bleeding in the brain).

• Ask them to smile (both sides of the mouth and face should move the same way).

• Ask them to raise both arms (both arms should move in the same way).

• Ask them to speak a simple sentence (speech should be clear and make sense).

If someone has trouble with any of these tasks, call 911 and get the person to a hospital right away for medical care.
