Sandra M. Arcenio was awarded the Career Advancement Scholarship from the Business and Professional Women's Foundation of Washington, D.C.

Arcenio is attending Oregon State University in Corvallis and anticipates receiving a BS degree in June.

The Business and Professional Women's Foundation established the Career Advancement Scholarship program in 1969 to provide financial assistance to women 25 years of age or older seeking to further their education. The scholarships allow women to upgrade their skills and advance their careers when they enter or reenter the workforce. Scholarship recipients must have been accepted at an accredited educational institution.

The Foundation has awarded more than $6 million in scholarships, research grants and loans since 1969 and will award $81,000 in the 2004-2005 academic year.

Established in 1956, the BPW Foundation promotes equity for working women through education, information and research.
