The Astor Street Opry Company announces the return of ASOC Dinner Theater.
After a five year absence their first production will be "The Art of Dining," written by Tina Howe. Published with special permission by Samuel French. Sponsored by Mark Carlson of Northwest Lending Group and Victor Kee of Pete Anderson Realty.
The show opens Friday, March 28 and runs Fridays and Saturdays through April 19, with two Sunday matinees on April 6 and April 13.
This full-length comedy is set at a gourmet restaurant; the owners and patrons act out their private dreams and aspirations over dinner. The conversations are elaborate burlesques of contemporary attitudes and situations. Recommended for mature audiences.
This marks the return after a long absence of the ASOC dinner theater format. Now at the Finnish Meat Market, 279 W. Marine Drive, the cabaret-style seating sets the tone for an evening of food by Chef Mary Todd, proprietor of the Worker's Bar & Grill, and entertainment.
Dinner will be offered on Fridays and Saturdays. Doors open at 7 p.m. for dinner and is served to 7:45 p.m. Show starts at 8 p.m. Tickets are $18 for the show and dinner. Sunday dessert matinees are performed April 6 and 7, with the doors opening at 1 p.m. Tickets for the matinee are $15 for adults and $12 for seniors.
