Darren Orange and Derek Ecklund open their studio at 342 10th St. to the public for a celebration of art and music from 7 to 11 p.m. Saturday, June 12.

Orange, who is currently showing in Santa Monica, Portland and throughout the Northwest, will be previewing new paintings and drawings. In the spirit of light and atmosphere, he said, the works hint at landscapes but ask for viewer imagination.

Northwest recording artist Derek Ecklund, or "Cap'n Cut'n Paste," (formerly known as "Mesmer") will be performing live his newest metatronic 21st century ecstatic fusion. Ecklund's newest CDs will be for sale, along with Orange's paintings and drawings.
