The Astoria Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution were the hostesses for the District One meeting at Caples House Museum in Columbia City July 30. The chapter now includes members from Tillammok, Clatsop and Pacific (Wash.) counties.

Barbara, Margaret and Meghan Wilson were all welcomed as new members.

The chapter received numerous awards for membership increase from the National Society at the meeting as well as individual awards for crafts, patriotic event participation and its new Web site.

Regular meetings of the chapter will begin Sept. 15 with a luncheon at the Astoria Golf & Country Club. The program will be on the history of women printmakers. Women interested in membership should call Helen Gaston at 738-8320 or Sue Glen at 861-0574.
