GEARHART - Dorothy Fitzgerald, a self-taught career artist who recently moved to the Northwest from the Monterey Bay, Calif., area, leads a three-day workshop at the Trail's End Art Center, 656 A St., Friday through Sunday, Sept. 24-26.

Fitzgerald won the grand prize in the 2004 Portland Rose Festival Art Show with her oil painting, "Pieces of the Orient." She is represented by the Zantman Galleries in Carmel and Palm Desert, Calif., and has shown in Idaho, Tennessee, Arizona and galleries in Portland and Lake Oswego.

The workshop runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day and participants should bring their own lunch. Cost is $90 for TEAA members and $100 for nonmembers. Space is limited to 10 participants. To register, call Billie Davis Graber at (503) 717-1971.
