The Bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Oregon, the Rt. Rev. Johncy Itty, will visit Grace Episcopal Church Wednesday.

Rev. Richard Loop, rector at Grace, said this is Itty's first formal visit to Grace since he was consecrated in September.

He will attend a dinner at 5:30 p.m., meet briefly with parishioners then lead worship at 7 p.m.

Itty, 41, has served as human rights officer at the Anglican Communion Office at the United Nations in New York, the city where he completed all of his post-secondary education, and in a similar post in Geneva. He has taught international affairs and comparative government at City University of New York.

He chairs the boards of Oregon Episcopal Schools and Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center in Corvallis and serves on the board of Legacy Hospital Systems in Portland. He leads 22,0000 Episcopalians in 77 churches in Western Oregon.
